Abrasive Polishing Pastes and Suspensions

1. Diamond pastes and suspensions.
Diamond pastes and suspensions are assigned for finishing touch and polishing details from steels, hard alloys,  ceramics, and other which require high surface quality. All pastes and suspensions produce on the base of synthetic diamond powders  according to the DSTU 3292-95 and valid industry standards and technical requirements.

Composition and features.
For production of diamond grinding/ polishing pastes used diamond grinding powders of marks AC4, AC6 and micro-powders of marks ACH, ACM different grits and concentration. For production diamond suspension used diamond micro-powders. Of course composition of paste includes availability 
surfactants which -facilitate washing of parts after processing:
- contribute to the effective removal of sludge, chips and process fluids from the processing zone;
-increase process stability and quality of the treated surface.
Due to their balanced composition, diamond pastes and suspensions provide a complex effect on the surface - mechanical and chemical, which increases the efficiency of finishing operations.

Purpose and application:
The main area of ​​use of diamond pastes and suspensions is finishing and polishing work.
A small amount of paste is applied to lapping tools - special tools whose shape corresponds to the shape of the surfaces being treated - flat, cylindrical, conical, threaded and others. 
This method allows you to get high-precision surfaces with minimal roughness.

2. Abrasive paste on the base of titanium carbide.
Abrasive titanium carbide paste is intended for grinding (finishing) and polishing mainly ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The paste is made on the basis of sieve and micro-powders of titanium carbide classified by grain size with the addition of binders and surfactants.

The paste contains:
- titanium carbide powders of a given grain size;
- binders and surfactants.
Binders which is used by production pastes of titanium carbide  such us natural and synthetic fats, acids and their derivatives (soaps, waxes, alcohols),  also hydrocarbons, glycols, polymers and other auxiliary components are used as binders.
The composition and ratio of components are determined by the conditions of a specific application.

Advantages of use:
The use of titanium carbide-based pastes provides:
- reduction of processing time by 2-3 times due to the possibility of using coarse-grained pastes with high surface quality;
- reduction of paste consumption by up to 2 times - one grain size of titanium carbide (TC) allows achieving a result that usually requires several grain sizes of diamond pastes;
- reduction in the number of technological operations;
- increasing the output  of the  good quality of parts according to the technical requirements for geometry and surface quality.
